| You could just get a pay as you go phone. No mess. No fuss. |

I've never worked for a phone company here in Korea, so I'm no expert, but I'd say it's different for each company and you SHOULD ASK THE PHONE COMPANY!!!!
Seriously, anything you hear on here will be anecdotal. Why not just ask the people at the store?
Having said that, I'm sure there is probably a cancellation fee of 50,000 or so. SK used to have a 200k deposit, so if you left early you'd lose that. But not sure if they still do. |

I'm currently on SK with a 2-year contract. If I cancel after 1 year, the cancellation fee is about 65,000 won. Not too shabby. |

| Not sure about phones, but if I show my Internet company my passport and ticket out of here, I can cancel the contract without paying fees. |

You may have to pay a small amount of penalty. I signed a 2 year contract recently (I intend to break at 21 months). They said I'd have to pay 10,000 won a month. This stipulation is probably because I got a free new phone with the contract.
Just ask them. |
