Lol. I saw that video a few days back. It's hilarious how he honks his horn at the last moment, so the kids know what's coming but also know there's not enough time to get away.
I wonder if this guy used to wait for the rainy season every year just to do this. |

Well,
the kids are standing right next to a pothole which is filled with water.
He is accelerating in order to amplify the effects of the drenching.
There is commentary.
He has notified the kids that he is near, but in such a manner as to limit
their ability to escape.
It's on youtube.
It's funny.
I have a sense of humor.

This is England, the rainy season lasts from August until July.
It is funny, but he does deserve a little slap on the wrist. Or be placed in a dunking chair at the next school fete. |

I found it hilarious. Can't stop laughing at the moment of water impact.
I see it as one of life's lessons and it is one I learned when I was a student.
When there is a huge puddle on the road; don't be an idiot and stand right next to it. |

Agreed, growing up in Manchester, England, one of the first things you learn in life is to look out for puddles on the road when you're walking! |

The protaganist in Stranger in a Strange Land stated that he finally understood humor when he realized that it's "something bad happening to somebody else." |

Those explanations still don't do it for me. The guy is being a deliberate knob. That's not funny, that's inconsiderate.
So I guess one of the life lessons you learn in the UK is "Be careful of standing at a bus stop in the rain...waiting for the bus, because it's raining and you just can't wait to get home, so you won't be wet anymore... or you'll be the butt of the joke."
I agree he shouldn't get jail sentence, or be sued, but a few hundred dollars fine and a few demerit points on our licence sounds about right for me. |

Yes, the driver is a [Mod Edit].
The children were not standing in the bus stop so they obviously did not care about the rain and getting wet. If they stepped a few feet forward up the road they would not have been in range of that puddle. That is where the bus would have stopped.
Was it cruel? Perhaps.
Have you never laughed at similar events on some Home Video TV show? |

It was very cruel. But I still laughed.
And btw, it was a woman driving. The guy was just filming and doing the commentary. |

Calling being splashed with water very cruel is an exaggeration or lose of perspective. Apparently, the government only calls it inconsiderate.
The question is did they get hurt. Water moving that fast can cause damage especially to sensitive areas like eyes. If they were not hurt, then funny it is.
Deserving of a fine - probably. It honestly isn't safe to drive into pooled water.
I would also like to add these children hopefully learned a valuable life lesson or two. 1) Don't stand next to pooled water in the road. 2) Some people are dicks. |

I'm amazed there's a woman with enough awareness of her position on the road to be able to do this. |

I hope you have a flame-proof suit handy!
To be honest though, she is going too fast for the conditions. |

I was disappointed in the video. Was hoping the filming took place from across the street or something to give a better view of the whole event, especially the aftermath. |
