| I've never had a hangovers as bad as when I drink soju. It's the devil's juice and if I wasn't so cheap, I'd never drink it again. |

Am I the only one who enjoys the taste straight?
To me it's like a weak vodka with a sweet sugary finish. |

| I think I developed an allergy to it. I drank two bottles one night, and ever since, even a sip of a soju cocktail is enough to set me puking for a day or two. |

I could easily knock back four in the span of an hour or 2, but I'd need a mixer. It's the taste that gets me. Then again, I drank 2 in 45 minutes as a pre-game last weekend, and still ended up drinking around 60k worth of whiskey at the bars.
So much for a cheap night
I met this canadian about 12 years ago, he had just arrived and thought soju wasnt strong.. so he proved to us all that soju was weak..
so he skulled a whole bottle in front of us... 5 minutes later he passed out! hahahahahaha

Yes.

I think you mean weak turpentine with a tinge of sucrose. |

| Soju is nasty stuff and there's no mystery why it's so cheap. I was in a samgyeopsal joint once and the ajumma came to my table after the meal with a bottle of soju. I thought she was going to give us a free bottle, but instead she poured it over the grill and used it as a cleaning agent. |

I've seen restaurant staff collecting leftovers from unfinished soju bottles.
I assumed that's what they make soju "cocktails" from, but was assured it's for cleaning.
A rule of thumb I used was: 1 bottle is good, 2 is better, 3 is enough.
Wasted? By that time, I'd giving up counting long before. |

| I think it complements samgyupsal wonderfully.... actually any barbeque tastes delicious with soju. |

Yup. I find the two best 'accompaniaments' (sp?) to the samgyupsal meal are soju and cigarrettes. |

I think soju is delicious but I never drink it because of the headaches.
I can still walk straight after one bottle. Never tried to have more than one bottle of soju in a night. (Soju + other I've done.) |

| Soju hangovers pale in comparison to Baijiu hangovers. |
