It seems Garmin is the industry leader, but I can only find car related projects. Any geocachers out there?

I found this, but since the same product is going for 50$ on ebay [and 145000 on gmarket] perhaps something cheaper can be found locally.

The tears, they burn just as much as they did in childhood.
No Korean handheld gps aficionados?
I suppose I'll have to go back to my Basset hound swimming competition forums for company...

Sorry I didn't spot your post before!

Handheld GPS units are apparently quite expensive in Korea as they are not
common. I have a Garmin Geko 201, bought from the US by mail order before I came here. There are some geocachers in Korea, but I don't do it.

Another GPS activity you can do is contribute to the OpenStreetMap project (www.osm.org). This is a fun way to explore your town or local area, and actually some of the OSM contributors are geocachers too.

A Korean friend of mine had a navi for his scooter. It was the size of a medium-sized MP3 player. He wore it on a lanyard around his neck. It was pretty simple, no voice or directions, just maps. I have no idea where he got it, but I remember him telling me it was only 80kwon.

Hey, I just discovered a SAmsung hand-held GPS and MP3 player...
It is very pretty but not cheap.

I think its called the D370 and it was originally priced at 600k, but this one was 300k. Trouble was, there wasn't an English language option, and I don't think it was possible to install other countries on it.

For me, that was a deal breaker. It had, like, tiptronic buttons on it.
Another thing is, I didn't find it on Samsung's site either. Strange that.

I have a Garmin etrex that I brought with me. I use it when i go hiking, geocaching, or just to get a quick layout of a city when i'm travelling. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any good maps for Korea. Even the one that Garmin makes (or markets) for Korea (ver.7) doesn't have many medium streets and no small streets.
