I have a friend that teaches dance back in the states, and she's looking to continue training now that she's teaching English here in Seoul.
Anyone know of dance studios on the East side of Seoul, preferably in JungNangGu, but anywhere close will work.
Specifically, she's interested in tap, modern, ballet; just an all-around studio.
I called the Seoul help desk, and the place they sent us to was grossly expensive -- 320,000kWon for 1 month (2 hrs a week.)
Thanks for the help (or snark)!

Yeah, Korea is different as we know. I would suggest to your friend that she try to find a place that rents out studio time by the hour. You can get a 15 pyeong place for as low as 10000 won/hour, but expect more, maybe 20000 won/hour. As far as classes, most studios that teach out here are ran like hagwons and you will usually pay anywhere from 60000 ~ 100000 won/month for 2 hours of instruction.
My friends and I are currently looking for a studio to rent. But there are 5 of us, so we can split the bill. You have to book early and far in advanced as well.
I'm a street dancer and I literally dance in the streets. At school's on their patios, at apartment playgrounds, under bridges at certain stages, but I don't think that would work to well for someone who does more traditional dances.
Oh, if she works at a PS, she can try to use their facilities if they have one, but I have found that they all close at 7pm on the dot, unless you are Korean of course... I gave up dancing at my school, their was always some excuse to not allow me to dance there, while Korean badminton/tennis players practice until 10p.
Hope this helps.
