I was thinking the other day that I'd like to try out this game called, "world of warcraft" on account of it looks pretty fun. But they say you need a credit card to play it, which I don't have. I hear there's these things called 'time cards' you can buy. My friends in Canada have them, but I can't seem to find any here. What sort of store would carry such a thing?

Also, does anyone know the Korean word for "paint remover" the last guy who lived in my apartment painted the wallpaper. It's godawful.

I don't have specific info on world of warcraft, but it will walk you through signing up for various Korean game portals using your Alien Registration card and installing various games. Also right now if you want one for free in English, check out my latest post about TK online. Its currently doing a group test and its open for the next 9 days. The game is almost entirely in well-written english.

I tried WoW a few years ago for "free" by creating an account at a PC bang. You won't have to pay the monthly fee but depending on how much you play it might be more economical. Not sure if things have changed though.

Korea has their own korean servers where everyone is Korean and I assume speaks English.

if you want to connect to a server back home where they speak english, you're looking at 200-300ms ping to oceanic servers(aussies) and US. It's playable as I did for awhile, but it rules out some of the activities that depend on a low latency like player versus player combat. doesn't seem like it makes a big difference but it might later on. not saying it's not doable, because I did. Just wanted to warn you.

BTW it's 14.99 per month for unlimited play time for US and Oceanic servers. I don't know if they have the same type of pricing plan in Korea.

I have played WoW in Korea and it's very easy...

You can download the account from Blizzard's website using a credit card/ PayPal/etc and then use your credit card/etc to prepay for time.

If you don't have a credit card, a friend will have to send you the physical CD and CD key for the game and expansions and also send you game cards.

The internet connections in South Korea are AWESOME, so playing on a North American or European server is no problem Smile

Also: don't use your account info at a PC room. The biggest thing right now in WoW is people hacking other accounts via keyloggers and this is ultra-common when people use public-use computers... no lack of love to the PC room, but hey, it happens very frequently Sad

PS: WoW is a great game, but an addictive time sink. Take it from me, I know.
