Hey, I have a Credit card that is going to expire next month. Is there anyway that I can get a new card sent to my Korean adress and be able to activate it on this side of the world? |

Get your buddy or folks to redirect it your way then use Skype to activate it. |

assuming the number he needs to dial is a 1800. Do 1800 numbers work on skype? I've tried 1800 numbers on skype from canada and they neverworked for me.. |

Just dial it from your phone at work! |

Depending on the company they may not send it to you here. Also, depending on where you're from, chip technology will likely be part of the card, which means you need the PIN. The company will send you the PIN in a separate envelope, and if your family sends it over to you, I would just get them to email you the PIN.
Once you have it, as has been explained, just use skype or some other calling program to call the 1-800 number. You'll have to answer a bunch of security questions.
BTW, some banks/companies will have an online activation, but many of those are set up for in-country activation only in order to prevent theft and fraud. So if you try to use the online activation, it will probably shut you out of your account. I wouldn't recommend trying a proxy server to get around it either. |

I usually put the dial location to United States and then type the number. Worked for me while abroad before. |

I have never heard of this word "crad". Would someone mind defining "crad" for me? |

You can have your card sent to you here; however, have it sent by a secure method, such as FedEx--don't use regular airmail.
The problem with trying to activate it from Korea is many cards can only be activated from the phone listed on the account. I recommend having your card sent here, unactivated, and, once you receive it, have someone in your family make the call. |

Bingo. This is what I have done over the years. Mine expires next year and if I do not go back for the summer, I'll have to have it sent over to Korea and activated in Canada. |

I've had a few cards activated from overseas. There is always a sticker on the card that says you must call from your home number but that's easy to get around. Simply contact the bank using a non toll free number and they'll help you out. |

Yeah. Seconded. I have my parents FedEx it and then email me the pin. |
