Korea does have GSM network, but it is through a Global Roaming partner. i'm willing to bet it is a VERY thin also. You have to register your phone's IMEI to a Korean carrier for it to work. You cna't just stick a SIM card and have it work automatically.
Korean SIM cards DO NOT WORK LIKE IN THE US/UK/EUROPE. Korean phones have a USIM card, that looks the same, but different.
i really wish the Mods would sticky "KOREAN USIM CARDS ARE NOT THE SAME AS SIM CARDS." |

| They have 3G W-CDMA here. I unlocked by iPhone but steveohan said that the KCC wants it to be hardware unlocked. That means only phones from HK or certain European countries would be eligible. I'm not that desperate to use my iphone because of the data plan costs in additional to that asinine certification fee. Much rather use the Egg and wifi. Cheaper in the long run. |
