Hi folks.

I am struggling to decide on which PDF/E-book reader I want to buy.
At first, the Kindle 2 looked great, until I found out that you can only read Amazon products. What rubbish. It's like buying a Yamaha scooter and them saying you can only use Yamaha fuel.

The Nuutboek/Nuutbook, which is available here in Korea seems great too, except for the bad quality music player.

Anyway, then the Sony PSR 707. I have read conflicting reports regarding the pdf downloads. Some say you have to purchase pdf's, others say you don't. So it has the same issue as the Kindle, or not.... confusion.
Also, it doesn't seem to be that fast. Is this true? And does anyone have an idea of the music quality?

ALL I WANT:

Is a decent pdf reader, that will take any pdf I copy onto the memory card, that has a large-ish display, with decent sound output. Colour options would be a bonus.

Any ideas? Much appreciated.

I use a modded PSP. It is iffy with large PDF files that contain a lot of graphics, but it handles straight text with aplomb. I have Mankiw's "Principles of Economics" on it, and that works great, despite having lots of graphs and tables. It works for how often I use it, but it feels like a makeshift alternative. I would love a Kindle, but it just isn't quite there yet.

My advice would be to hold off. Though, you can't do that forever and have to take the plunge at some point. This Barnes & Noble device looks stellar.

I bought a Sony ereader 505 off eBay last year, and I love it. I download and copy .pdf books off torrent sites onto a SD card, insert into ereader and read away.
