I tried Korean 101 but it has videos. My computer at school has no sound at the moment.

I also can't and don't want to learn the hangul alphabet as the time taken doing so could have resulted in my being able to say 20 new sentences which is more important to me.

So I'm looking for an online resource for learning conversational Korean that uses Romanisation.

Cheers

DMGB

this is by far the best Korean site I've found on the internet. It beats the others by leaps and bounds.

You'll learn to say 20 new sentences, but no one will understand what you're saying because you probably won't be pronouncing it correctly. What will you do if you ever want to write something?

No, but I figured that you would notice the part where it teaches you how to pronounce the Korean alphabet under:

introductory Korean -> 1. The Korean alphabet ->stroke order -> letters -> vowels.

I know you don't want posts that don't answer your question directly, but...

1) I don't know of any site that teaches conversation purely through romanisation. Korean Class 101 is the best that I've seen that provides it.

2) If the reason you don't want to learn hanguel is because it's inefficent, I'd urge you to think again - If you learn Hanguel it will result in you learning more Korean in the long run. You might learn fewer sentences on the one day it takes you to learn how to read and write, but you'll catch up by picking up so much from reading signs and menus and being able to use those site which don't use romanisation.

Can you imagine the horror if Koreans all tried to learn English by Koreanizing all of the English words? You wouldn't be able to understand what they are saying. By Romanising Korean, nobody will be able to understand you.

I know I'm not answering your question at all, but honestly, how stupid can you be? Take a week and learn how to read.

This is why Konglish is such an abomination a lot of korean bad pronunciation comes from English words that have been transliterated and are in common use, like lunch-ee

I don't know if you have studied Korean at all, but this is completely wrong. Koreans say "lunch-ee" when they are basic learners because there is not way to end a Korean word with a "ch" sound - there must be a vowel. However, once they become intermediate English speakers they have learned how to speak correctly.
