"When you feel that a lady riding a bicycle is more beautiful than one in a fancy car, it is a good start to being environmentally friendly."

Korean Environment Minister Lee Maan-ee.

Who knew Koreans were such romantics? Or friends of the environment. Not me!

There's romance in Korea? Where?
Over the past 2 years I've seen:
Koreans working 15 hour days, chasing new plastic surgery plans, worried to death about not getting rich, putting on a happy face under terrible circumstances, etc. Then drenching themselves in Soju to try and forget all this stress. Lots and lots of stress...never romance.

Maybe the romance fades out of them sometime during High School when they're forced to study for 13 hours a day. I suppose nobody has time to write love letters when stuck in a Hagwon till 1am.

And most reek of garlic and kimchee...nothing more "unromatic" then talking with a beautiful, drop dead georgous woman or handsome man for you ladies....and your eyes start watering from their body smell...garlic/kimchee....I can smell a korean 10 meters away! Imagine 100's of them riding bikes around! I am not flaming...just a fact. Even my students...and I have 50 of them in class...the garlic/kimchee smell is powerful!

Maybe Korea has finally gotten to realise that it would be wise to try and cut the number of cars on the road.

Is korea's love affair with the automobile over?? I hope so!!

I've done my part as a migook; I sold my car 2 months ago and haven't had a motorcycle in a year. What was my reward? Being cut-off unexpectantly by a poor driver on my mtb a month ago; been casted ever since and will find out next week if I need surgery, lol.
