Hi all,
I'm already in Korea but I have a friend that is considering coming. What are the regulations on the CRC? Does it have to be local, national, or FBI? He's from the US. If you have a DUI, will that prohibit one from obtaining a visa?

Local seems to be fine for the process, but a DUI will be a reason for visa denial. See if he can get it off his record. |

CRC needs to be state level, and any state will do. maybe suggest to your friend he/she drive to the next state over where they havent been arrested and obtain a records check. some states allow you to do everything online, then they mail you the records after they notarize them. then all you have to do is send the notarized copy to the state secretary's office(normally) to get it apostilled. WA and PA for example have online services. just call the state police and they will tell you what to do. |

I've heard local, I've heard state.....
All depends on who you get at Immigration. I had a look on the Korean Immigration English site and couldn't find it nor is there a search function.
Be safe and get the FBI check? (2 months) |
