Nick Griffin, leader of the far-right political party The British National Party recently appeared on Question Time, a political discussion show on the BBC.
If anyone doesn't know about the BNP, they are basically a White Power group with some political connections.
Anyway, after reading some comments on the 'BNP' group on Facebook, I feel shocked, ashamed and saddened by the level of racist vitriol from young UK citizens. I thought people had moved away from this in the UK, but I guess I was very wrong.
It really makes me not want to go back home, especially with a Korean partner.

A small minority and you went looking for it, did you look at any anti-BNP groups to see what has been said?

...On the other hand, did you see it? They went all out to murder him but it looks like it might backfire as everyone has been saying he got 'bullied'. Basically they attacked him over his outrageous youtube videos or whatever and didnt really let him speak out. All a bit cheap, but entertaining.

Britain is ruining itself by letting in waaayyyy too many immigrants.

So is Canada.

When immigrants start complaining about their lives in their adopted countries and demand social/political change, it's time to shut the gates and send them home.

So I can understand people's frustration.

"Happy Holidays".

I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I will asap. From what I can gather, he was railroaded which was a shame. It would of been good to actually hear his policies in detail. I'm sure that would have been much more enlightening.
I wasn't looking for anything. The group I refer to is supposed to be of a neutral viewpoint. There are plenty of anti-BNP views there. What saddens me is the base nature of the racism. It's a very poor advert for the UK.

Check out the Movie" This is England" it's all about how The National Front
hijacked the Skinhead movement in the Eighties. Great Reggae soundtrack. There used to be a poster Racetraitor who really knew that scene. He doesn't post here anymore.

Remember those stupid Viviene Westwood T shirts with the Swastika's on.

It was a car crash to be honest, he came across as an idiot.

Its not like he wasnt given his chance to say his defence, but he was ganged up on. I dont really watch it at any other time, so couldnt say if this is too out of the ordinary for the guest.

If they would have got him going on a wider range of his policies they could have completely destroyed him, he's clearly not that bright whatsoever.

Dont be sad about racist people they are clearly everywhere, in this regard the UK is pretty tolerant.
There is a lot of frustration here at the moment and this turns into the typical misguided anger.
I disagree it's getting worse too as far as I can see people are becoming more tolerant, and these racist people arent a threat. Where I live walking around saying anything racist is a good way to get yoursself beaten up.

What seems to be the case though is that people do have a problem with the mass immigration at the moment and I think that is going to be debated in great depth running up to next years election.

For me, it's a bit of a worry. I'm mixed race and have been on the nasty end of racism before. The uneducated bigots out there don't differentiate between Asians, Muslims and black people.
With people espousing views such as 'kill the Paki', it's definitely something I'm concerned about, seeing as my future spouse is Korean.

On Facebook? All mouth. The same folk who might attack you for your colour would probably attack me for having long hair, or for teaching immigrants how to speak English so they can have a chance at getting a job which is better than cleaning or serving in Cafe Nero. Theyre fossils.

Having said that maybe Ive got it now so I dont have to be around those kinds of people anymore and Im insulated, living in the cosmopolitan heart of Manchester. If I got a tram 20 minutes in any direction things could be much different.

In all fairness what might be worse for you is having to even think about all this rubbish when it's probably by-and-large not on your mind when you live abroad. And all the rest of the crap that goes with being here. The politics and such, the rubbish weather, the lack of community.

The problem is that the Government comes across as so PC that they don't discuss these concerns of immigration or the problems that are occuring and as there doesn't seem to be official discussions allowed, then the only one that represents the issue is the extremist.

Most common people will follow anyone who properly says what they feel about an issue that concerns them. If the Government doesn't get ahead of the issue, then the BNP will milk it.

Though it obviously is a concern for all involved.

the problem lies with the Education system and the government allowing people to write, produce and distribute hate and negative content!

society needs to enforce some laws and the schools need to start Teaching LOVE! too much hate in the world now. best to start a global curriculum where we teach from kindergarten LOVE, caring and kindness to other.. and I mean BRAINWASH THEM! it will take a couple generations but if done right. the world could become a better place..

hahahhahaa remember demolition man? hahahahaha

The UK could soon become a centre for race hate. Now we have people posting nasty comments on Facebook, but it easily manifest itself physically. Britain may return to the 1980's where 'Paki Bashing' was a common occurrence.

Although we complain, Korea does not bend over backwards to accomodate us in an effort to avoid being labelled racist, unlike Canada and the UK. And I have no desire to become a citizen or long term resident of Korea. I am a guest, so I can put up with their BS.

The latest news in Canada is 76 Sri Lankans who just showed up on our doorstep in a huge boat. They apparently paid $45K each in order to get on the boat. They will all most likely be allowed to live in Canada. There is no goddamn way that any Sri Lankan has $45K in cash. Something is really fishy about this, but sure as shiit, they will become citizens. Tons of people in Canada are pissed off about this. They are taking advantage of our system.

Hell, why don't we just ship ALL of Sri Lanka to Canada? Why not bring over ALL the Afghans too? And the Iraqis! And all of India and Pakistan!

Canada's social system is quickly being eroded by the influx of immigrants. We can't even take care of the people who already live in Canada for Christsakes.

It's very difficult to advocate more restricted immigration policies without being accused of having a hidden racist agenda, and being associated with people like the BNP. Anti-immigration is seen on the left as code for simply racism, so anti-immigration speeches get demonized.

On the other hand, this doesn't stop the media and politicians from continually harping on about asylum seekers and terrorists, so who's demonizing who? There's some truth to the leftist view that this is racist.
