The special ed teacher at my school is an ajossi's ajossi. He's always smiling, frequently seen taking triumphant, shuffling walks around the track or the garden, and you can tell his location at all times by the sound hacking phlegm. At lunch he often has grunting, chewing, mouth-breathing, slack-jawed conversations with the other men. Other than terrible table manners he's a jolly guy and always greets me with a friendly hello.

I usually position myself at the table so there will be no chance of him sitting directly across from me, ever since a piece of gochu got stuck in his throat and he spackled two secretaries with half-chewed rice and 육계장. Today I let my guard down and sat across from an empty place, which he then chose. I guess the soup was too hot and about five minutes in he sorta cough-choke-mouthfarted and sprayed my tray with seaweed, broth, and buchu. I think he said sorry right away but since his mouth was still open and overflowing with rice it sounded like muarghjwergleagh.... None got on me and I was done with my meal so no big deal. Still, twice in one year.

Sorry if you're reading this before eating. Just had to share.

Well, that's a more polite way of putting it. Ha ha. But, basically yes he was.
