Koreans think people who go to them are whores. Foreigners thing Koreans who smoke will go.

It's all B.S. Some people go to nightclubs to dance and have fun. It's Korean media showing stupid things happening in nightclubs on TV. Just like walking down the street in any US town will get you raped/shot/mugged or beaten. It's on the TV it must be true:)

Korean-style nightclubs are rubbish. A horrible way to spend a lot of money.

There are plenty of western-style nightclubs in Seoul where you can go in, sit where you like, get whatever drink you want at the bar, and mingle with normal girls.

Plus you won't get a big stupid plate of fruit that you didn't order!!

If you're talking about a 나이트 ("night-uh") then it's basically a booking club, there are men's tables and women's tables and you give the waiter a tip and he will go grab some girls from a table, drag them over and make them sit at your table and chat with you. What happens from there is up to you and her.

But they play awful music and are mostly full of middle-aged Koreans. And you get a stupid fruit plate that you didn't order, haha. That's assuming they even let you in, which they often don't if you look foreign. Just go to a western-style night club in hongdae or itaewon, you'll have more fun and spend less money.

Actually I talked to a girl today about nightclubs.

She's not a full out *beep*... although she is a bit slutty. Anyways, normal girls go there to hook up. It's not such a bad place. IT's like blind date central for attractive people. Some people go for one night stands. OThers go for fun and to talk.

It's a mix. It's possible to meet a decent girl there, but personally I don't think it's the best of places if you're looking for a cutesy innocent girl.

There is also the half-hoff/half night club type those are interesting...

I think the normal types go to the booking clubs, more adventurous and westernized go to the Western style night club.

You can go there and get a one-night stand, but I think it's pretty narrow-minded to think just because a girl goes to one she's a *beep*. But you can get a one-night stand a regular club too. Also, why are women stigmatized for having sex? The double-standards are ridiculous.

I've found the Korean style "Nite-uh" booking clubs to generally be a big waste of time and money. Most don't take kindly to foreigners (go with some Koreans) and they generally don't give great service unless you dress up the table with top shelf whiskey and expensive anju. The other patrons don't go expecting to meet foreigners, so many are embarassed/unable/reluctant to converse in English - last time I went to one most of the girls brought to our table left giggling as soon as they realized there would be a language barrier. They usually have very expensive VIP rooms, which I was told is where a lot of the real action takes place. If you go with some high-rolling Koreans, I'm sure it would be a great time, but otherwise I;'ve found them not to be worth it.

I don't go out clubbing all that much these days, but I personally prefer Hongdae over the other areas in Seoul for Western style clubs. I find the Itaewon clubs to be a bit on the trashy side (and I haven't found one where I like the music, while I find the Gangnam clubs to be too pretentious and full of gold-digging princessy sorts
