I use iTunes 9. I'm pretty satisfied. A long, long time ago (early 90s) I used Winamp. I can't remember how long I've used iTunes, but it's been my music player for a long time. Back in the 90s, I could never get into Music Match. That was a piece of terrible software.
What music/mp3 management players do you all use on Windows/Mac/Ubuntu/etc... |

Itunes on my Touch.
Floola on my old 4th gen classic. Floola is great. It boots from the Pod, so I can grab other people's music from their pc. Doesn't work on ITouch, though. Works on most major mp3 players (I think). |

Winamp.
A while back I used to have a really old Creative MP3 player and apart from their own software (Meidasource or something) the only player that it interfaced with was Winamp, and even though I don't use that MP3 player anymore I've stuck with it. I really like the search function and it's well layed out. |

| Songbird on my netbook. It's light enough to have it running in the background on the crappy Atom processor. |

Nobody using MediaMonkey? It's more of a media management program but I find it handles everything very well, including large music collections (I have approx. 600 GB / 25,000 songs on a single drive).
Free version already has everything you need, if you pay for it you'll have lifetime updates and upgrades. |

25,000?! That's insane! Are they purely for your listening pleasure or are you a DJ or something? I thought I had a few with 8000 but you've taken it to another level! |

Well, I am insane. I am also an obsessive-compulsive collector. That said, I only have music which I would eventually enjoy listening to. Or, if I had children, would like them to listen to (as if children would ever listen to their parents' music before they turn 30). In the best case, a friend would come to me and ask for a specific song... chances are that I can help as long as it is not to recent.
My most precious collection is actually a compilation of the US Billboard Top 100 from 194x to now - quite amazing how much great music was made inthe 60's and 70's! The same exists also for the UK, only there it is a compilation of every #1 single in the UK since 1953. Took me a year to listen to all of them (in the car).
I hope to be able to find the time for the rest after I've turned 65 or whenever I have enough money to retire |

I use Media Monkey and I love it. I'm super ocd with the files on my computer and Media Monkey helps me organize my music very nicely. |

Maybe an idea for Halloween - "OCD Pirate"?
Just to push this image a bit further (and I did mention my insanity), I am actually proud that I have used MediaMonkey to tag each individual album (MM helps a lot with this though)!
Does not really help a lot with female companions...
She: "Put on some music and let's make out!"
Me: "Just.Ten.More.Albums..."
Door: "SLAM!"
In fact in Korea I found out that ALL the music I ever needed was a 40 song "Best of" compilation of Air Supply!!! |

| Do you use the auto-tag feature. That's what I like about media monkey. I have to go through and fix the genre and album dates often though |
