I don't think that there is a Namaste in Hongdae - unless they just opened. Their main location is Dongmyo, and they have one in Jongno (in Jongno Tower above Bandi and Luni Bookstore), and there newest one is in Sinsa - about a 10 minute walk from Apkujang Station.

I think the Tandoori near Ewha Womens University station (line 2, exit 3, first right and a little ways up the hill on the right ...) has the best chef.

Ashoka (Hamilton Hotel, 3rd floor) used to be the best - and is still probably the best around Itaewon (with an actual trained chef).

Taj Palace used to be pretty bad when I first started going there about 6 years ago, but they've gotten better under new management.

All the Nepalese restaurants are pretty good (led by Everest and Namaste) and - according to last Saturday's Korea Times - the Nepalese community in Seoul (numbering about 10,000) is busy opening restaurants that help support its culture.

On my way to the Namaste in Jongno yesterday I noticed another Nepalese place that just popped-up near the YMCA. It's called Taj Mahal, I think. And near Everest (Dongdaemun Station, line 1, exit 3) there are a couple more Nepalese restaurants...

Still waiting for a purely vegetarian Indian restaurant, though. |

Trust me there is one in Hongdae. I ate there with friends for two of my birthdays |

They need to update their website then. Did it have the same logo on their sign? http://www.namasterestaurant.co.kr/

(I gave the wrong link before - forgot to add the .co.kr) |

Hmmm, I might be meaning 'Nepali'

Damn I'm confused now as it's been a while. All I know is there;s n awesome Nepali / Indian one in Hongdae and they have a few elsewhere too but they have a different logo than on the link you posted. |

Are you guys thinking of Shanti restaurant? They're in Hongdae. I wouldn't recommend, though I've only been once.

Namaste always wins. Was there last week and the people are so friendly and the food is so yummy. |

Could be, their logo is a circle and the interior very colourful.

Best I've had even better than Brick Lane in London.

I took 15 friends there once and everyone raved mad about it. Never had that reaction before for most places I've taken people to |
