I'm interested in getting some acupuncture...maybe.

But I'd prefer if the acupuncturists were - 1. qualified, 2. speak some english

As the herbal medicine market exists in Daegu, I was hoping that someone exists.

Has anyone had it done in Daegu? Do you have any recommendations?

Ty~

Honestly I will add this because noone else has suggested anything, and the info I have to offer is not detailed...

In any event, there is a traditional medicine doctor I visited once in Beomul-dong that spoke great English. I don't know how qualified he is (he was old and seemed to know what he was doing) but since it was my first acupuncture I had no basis for comparison.

In any case, I dont know the name of his place, and it has been years since I was there, but if you are in that area and want to check it out, here is a vague description of how to find the place.

In Susung-gu, at Yong-Ji negori (용지네거리) Which is basically Beomul-dong.. If you are coming from the Donga department store, you would head straight to the Beomul intersection and go straight across. That road leads to a dead end, but his hospital was about halfway up that dead end street on the left hand side. I don't remember the name but there cant be more than one or two traditional hospitals on that short of a street. I do recall the outside seemed to have wood, or at least wood-colored paneling on the outside.

The cost for my treatment was about 10,000 won with no insurance (I was having returning pain in my knee form an old training injury)

I have marked it on this map which was created (not by me but I had added a fair amount of locations) to assist foreigners living in Daegu finds points of interest. Look on the list for "English Speaking _______" and you should be able to see where it is in the city.

Good luck

I have been to the chinese herb street west of BanWalDang (center subway transfer stop). The man really didn't speak English very good but he is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine . If you need something corrected look it up in Korean or ask a friend for translation then tell him or show him on paper. You can point to your back and say "apa-ieyo." He slips those needles in pretty quick though.
