| Kid A is the only Radiohead album I really like. Mind you, I haven't heard any of their albums subsequent to that. |

You should probably listen to them (except for pablo honey.) If this thread was 'most important albums of the 90s', then they would be mentioned regularly. |

| Well, alright, but I did say subsequent to Kid A - meaning the albums released after it. Of course, I've heard OK Computer and The Bends (and I've never really liked them that much). And yeah, Pablo Honey is rubbish. Whilst I really like Kid A - I like electronica and atmospheric rock (Kid A could be Depeche Mode, one of my favorite groups) - I don't really feel immensely motivated to check out more recent releases. But I inevitably will eventually. |

Amnesiac was recorded at the same time as Kid A and In rainbows is pretty good too. |

Yea, I hear people say this but I don't get it (in the case of Radiohead especially). Radiohead have an energy and a substance to their songs that is just not there in with Coldplay.
The comparison of Bloc Party and Radiohead is laughable. Their music is not similar and they definitely draw from different influences. |

| I've never heard Kid A. All I know is that Creep song and my friend played their cd in his car when I was halfway going in and out of sleep through a bong-induced haze. It all sounded kind of the same. Could have been Kid A I suppose. |

well there is a difference between importnat and well known ... i took important to mean that people actually took what someone was doing and progressed.
the beatles were ridiculously popular but stand on a street corner and sing their most important songs and people would just get wierded out. i'm refering to tomorrow never knows and day in the life .... not songs so bland that everybody everywhere has covered them -- like yesterday for example. But songs that pushed what could be done with recording techniques at the time, songs that went beyond simple pop structures, this is what i mean by ''important''
and the same comments refer equally well the the other albums in my list of most important albums of all time --- kid a, pet sounds, and forever changes. |

| Alive was a great album, really good start to finish. I think the best of the decade is Stadium Arcadium by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. If you have someone listen to the whole album it will make them an instant fan. |

Too much has been said.
You dont listen to Coldplay to stay cool or feel macho, you need it because it is the chicken soup. It brings emotions from deep of your heart.
Thats why I don't agree to classify coldplay as rock n roll........but that is just not important to me.
As long as human being still drop tears when they feel sad or happy, they will keep on playing coldplay. |

Wow, only 2 more months in this decade? 
I guess I'll crash the Radiohead/Coldplay lovefest with The White Stripes White Blood Cells.
The emotion comes through without the overproduced techno-noise. |
