Today my supervisor told me that I had to wear makeup - as some students said that I look like a granny. (When I work in Hollywood movies- bit or small parts, they say I look too young to be my age.) I also have to wear different clothing - hey with the luggage allowance on Asiana (cheap flight) I was only allowed 1 small suitcase. I brought very few clothes and I don't do ruffles. I am allowed to wear jeans, so I do, but they don't want me to wear the same ones. I guess that now they can be picky. They don't want experienced teachers, as they won't rewrite a contract with a person who is much older than me. I guess that they don't really want good English teachers. Go figure. At this rate, they will never learn English.

There's no need to generalize like that.

At my last job (in an office) our manager "strongly suggested" that my co-worker wear makeup. We were allowed to wear jeans on Friday, but she was very clear that they had to be "nice jeans" (dark denim, little wear, trouser cut, etc.) My sister worked in a bank where women tellers were all required to wear makeup because it "looked more professional." It is the norm in nearly any job where you deal with the public that appearance and image are almost as important as ability. You don't have to be Tammy Faye, but it might be worth investing in a tube of mascara if it will get your director to leave you alone.

Whatever your troubles, the TOS needs to be followed. Racist posts are not acceptable and users lose their accounts over racist posts in many cases. We are not responsible for your cultural experiences, good or bad, and you can have both in this country. However, generalization of a whole race based on your bad experience is not within the TOS.

Also, some users keep posting posts where they're attacking other users.
This includes users who have been here for over a year, and they know that's not acceptable under the TOS. If you choose to do that, then we do what we must to keep the site clean.
