I'm looking to buy a dirt cheap car (under 1 Mil won).
Anywhere you guys recommend I go to?
Looking to just go in person, my korean is fine so I can go to a non-English speaking place as well.
I have my korean DL as well.

I've been to SK Encar, but i'd rather not wait for replies and such.
Somewhere I can go personally and buy on the spot.

I got 3 different cars, all under a million, from looking at those free advertisment newspapers you find on street corners outside apartment buildings. (Kyojaro, Sarabang, etc). The good thing with the papers is that they're all local listings, usually just from your Gu or specific region, so they're all close by.

All 3 times, the cars were being sold directly from the owners and no dealers were involved. The papers come out daily and the ads seem to work. Most good deals are gone after 1 or 2 days of the ad posted.

Got an Excel for 350, an Elantra for 475, and my latest Shuma for 750,000won. The first two lasted for about 2-3 years each, with normal maintenance. I would get rid of them (junkyard) when something major popped up and my mechanic advised me to spend the money on getting a new car.

Has worked great for me.
