internet explorer 8, chrome or firefox
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx
http://www.google.com/chrome
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html

http://www.lavasoft.com/
http://malwarebytes.org/
http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/zonealarm-pc-security-free-firewall.htm

Uh, Thanks?
That list is great. Can anyone else contribute to the list? We have some really great links going here.
P.S. I am trying to make this thread and the Mac thread a sticky. I have also created a page on my website for this kind of stuff too.

okay, I've updated my website with the ones I thought were worth having, for now. You guys can take a look if you want. Any other good programs? I created a page for it since the MODS haven't gotten back to me regarding this thread becoming a sticky (or the MAC one for that matter). |

Maybe I am a dubmass, but I never ever got NOD32 to work for free...
Am I missing something???
Typically, I got it to work the first time without any issues (and without trying) but since reformatting, NADA......

I generally prefer media player classic to vlc. Vlc is great and all, but I prefer the interface of mpc. I also like the fact that when you adjust the volume, it remembers your volume setting when you open it again.
For music: winamp
For music/audiobooks/lecture series: soulseek
For Korean practice: Anki
For saving youtube or other flash videos: downloadhelper |
