I've heard whispers of this.
"Two weeks," "November."
I'm starting this thread to ask, "Have you heard it too?"
No I don't have a link. Only whispers. |

someone on another thread mentioned something about the government deciding to shut down middle schools according to the number of students infected...
have you heard anything about how the time will be made up if this happens? will holidays be delayed? |

Yes, I have heard this (from my co-teacher), and I've heard they have not decided one way or the other. She had to go to a meeting or something and she came back and told me.
There are many schools closed now and classes canceled (including at my school). |

do you know if it's rumored to be nationwide? or just certain areas? Not sure if I can see it happening with all those kids out of school and their parents not knowing what do with the little brats.

Hope not, I'd rather just work if that was the case. Don't want my holidays being delayed, then starting winter camps.

My coteacher also told me about this rumor. She also said teachers would have to come in during any canceled class periods. |

My boss just told us that our hagwon might be closing for a week, and if so, we would have to forfeit our Christmas vacation! |

i hope so, that way they won't try to postpone winter vacation. at this point, i don't care if schools close or not as long as the winter vacation isn't delayed. |

I agree, having time to rest would be the best way to assuage this epidemic.
There is one thing that reeally really worries me.
WELL, like most people I'm probably not going to stay home if I have a week off. I mean, hell my first thought is I'm going downtown and gonna go shopping or to the norebang. I probably won't because I'm mature enough to know the dangers....
But think of all the kids who are going to ignore the warnings and get of the home and start spreading it like wildfire. I can imagine some unexpected worst results coming out of this vacation. |

I don't know whats worse. Leaving the schools open so all the kids can get infected. Or close the schools and have all those kids run around korea infecting everyone.
Either way... no solution. |

You're better off outside than crammed 40 deep in a classroom. |

The kids will be spending 99% of their free time indoors glued to their computer screens. The notion that Korean kids might go outside and run around is crazy. |

Actually she also said we would be expected to make up missed classes...presumably during winter vacation. It's the worst of both worlds. |

Doesn't really matter this point if the schools shut down or not. Once it gets cold millions of people will get the flu. Millions more will be exposed to the flu but not get it. Its going to happen at this point regardless. Best case scenario = no school and no make ups. Worst case is having to make up classes during vacation |
