I recently submitted my resume and cover letter for a public school job in Korea. I was pleased to receive a quick positive reply. But I was surprised that I was asked to create and submit a lesson plan based on two pages of a school textbook that was scanned and sent to me.
Has anyone else received a similar request. To me, it seems odd. |

| Seems smart on the school's part even if it is a little tedious. It would make me want to work with them more. If they like your lesson plan then there is a higher probability that they will like you as a teacher. |

It seemed "odd"? Use the simple skill of prediction.
You applied for a teaching position!
Doesn't a submitted lesson plan seem like a reasonable hurdle to demonstrate some semblance of teaching competency?
I'm at a loss as to why you were dumbfounded. |
