Hi all,
My old router burned out, it was a IPTIME G304, and did a good job for three years.
The biggest gripe I had was that the admin was all in Korean, so I could not effectively impose basic security measures, basically, you get easily on my network and with some tinkering probably find access to individual computers.
So I am looking for a decent router with English admin possibilities.
Cheers. |

THX for the quick reply
300Mbps, isn't the standard 10/100?
How do they get 300 out of it?
I have 4-5 computers using the router, with one LAN connection.
So it should be a good workhorse.

I recommend the Linksys WRT54G. I've had mine for over a year and it's been great. You can install custom firmware on it too. You can get one for pretty cheap, maybe 40,000 won, at Yongsan. |

WRT54G v4 seconded.
make sure to get no later than version 4 as they changed the hardware for the worse with some later versions... |

It's advertising hype.
I think I get about 98 on my computer using N.
I suppose if you have a faster connection, it could do more, but 10/100 are pretty much standards for the home, as far as I know. I can indeed tell a difference between an N and a G signal (G maxes at around 54). As a side note, if two computers are using the wifi at the same time, some routers revert to the slowest of the two signals for everyone.
I'm running N on both computers now, so it doesn't matter to me. |

I have an anytime Korean router, was the cheapest I could find at yongsan for 25k I think. don't buy it is my advice because it's quite crappy, even though it has an antenna the signal isn't far reaching and it's quite unreliable with plenty of drop-outs. |
