Very vague question - but what airlines (especially ones that wouldn't be in Orbitz, etc.) have you in the past found to have cheap flights to the US west coast? I'm just seeing if I've missed any to check, or should check any of them more thoroughly. |

There aren't any budget carriers that fly to the US from Asia, so there probably aren't very many airlines that wouldn't be on Orbitz or Expedia. If you don't mind going a bit out of the way to save money, I'd check Thai Airways website - they sometimes have cheap fares to the US via Bangkok, although I think they only fly to LA. Otherwise you may have to pay more than you want - I don't know anyone who's found a really cheap flight to anywhere in N America recently/ |

RT ticket on Cathay from ICN-LAX for ~777,000 won
On NWA, 665,000 won
On Eva Air, 685,000 won
On Delta, 665,000 won
Seriously doubt you can get much cheaper than that. That's for RT mid week December flights.
On www.onlinetour.co.kr
http://flight.onlinetour.co.kr/booking/BkFareSearch.lts?trip=RT&trip_idx=1&comp=Y&dep0=SEL&dep1=&dep2=&dep1_text=&dep2_text=&depdate0=20091202&depdate1=&depdate2=&depCity=&retdate=20091216&arr0=LAX&arr1=&arr2=&arr_text=%B7%CE%BD%BA%BE%D8%C1%A9%B7%B9%BD%BA%28LAX.CAS%29&arr1_text=&arr0_text=&arr2_text=&adt=1&chd=0&inf=0&car=YY&sort=F&idt=ALL&tpno=99&header=TP&val=&searchType=SD
Note, that site doesn't really work with firefox, so you IE if you want to explore it further.

China Air based in Taiwan, fly to Vancouver. I know it's not the US, but it was cheap, & a flight from Vancouver to SFO or LA is possible. |

Unfortunately it's for rather expensive dates in January.
Thanks, I've always had a Korean friend search onlinetour.co.kr, but just now learned how to search it myself. They are (as usual) the best so far. Thanks. Er, tied with Canada Air actually, but with more dates available.
I checked Thai air - little expensive for my dates, but not bad, and I had not thought of them. I'll be sure to remember them in the future.
China Air I tried previously - not bad, but not great this time around. |

Generally with Korean airlines/Korean travel sites - the earlier the booked the better, right? |

Try Singapore Air directly on their website. They always had good deals for non-stops ICN-SanFran. |
