Not interested. The word 'recruiter' has something to do with my lack thereof. |

Because recruiters are un-cool. |

You found it on the exact date that it was actually created? Just be honest. |

Thanks for posting this. And thanks to the recruiter for starting this blog. It seems very honest and to the point. It will be very helpful to new recruits applying to positions in Korea. |

I think the first thing that recruits need to understand is why schools use recruiters. It saves them from advertising, vetting of dozens of applicants, and having to explain and take their final choice thru the visa process themselves. Things they may not have the personnel with the necessary skills to do the job well enough to be done effectively. This is a case where by outsourcing it's better to rely on professionals. |

i think the quote about blogging, "Never have so many said so much to so few" applies here. |

Yes, and after that prospective teachers need to understand that the recruiters do not work for them, and that their happiness is not nearly as important as whatever happiness they can give the schools, i.e., the people who pay the recruiters. I think too many people trust their recruiters far too much, and don't realize that anything the recruiter says about the school ought to be verified by talking to teachers on the ground or someone who has pleasantly completed a contract with the school.
I will not say that recruiters lie to people, but people need to understand that they have very little incentive to inform a prospective teacher of potentially negative aspects of working at a place from which they hope to receive a commission. |

First off this guy is a westerner. I tried dealing with a few westerner recruiters when I reapplied two years ago to return to teach. They were both tossers who used the same bs headhunting tactics that you find back home. I interviewed with one who assured me that I was the one the school wanted and he'd email me the contract as soon as he came back from lunch. I waited until the next day and sent him an emial. TWO days went by until I recieved a response saying that he placed a more qualified candidate at the school.
I was getting job offers by the truckload from Korean recruites with the contracts attached. Screw western recruiters and screw this guy. They are worse tossers than the Koreans when you get right down to it. |

I don't know what a tosser is, but imagine this guy likes salads. What's with the bad language in the blog? Funny, expressing your hatred for applicants is very professional. Guy needs a pet to talk to so he doesn't have to share this crap with the rest of the world. |

Wow... you're way more diplomatic than I.
Hey newbies -
Recruiters lie, employers lie. |
