When in the morning do the Seoul subways start to be jammed full of people?
6 am, 7am, 9 am? Just curious because I want to try to get on BEFORE the rush. Any help appreciated.

Depends on what line, what station(s), transfer points, etc. I took line 1 in the north-east end of Seoul to the central part last year at 5:30 am and it was packed. Other lines don't get packed until 8:00 or so. Again, it depends. Give more details and maybe someone can help.

The subway always sucks...except when there are seats for people, which is rare. I'd say try to get on at 6:50 or earlier if you're as agoraphobic as me...it's not just that I'm afraid of getting swine flu and bringing it home to my baby...I just don't like sharing anything with a lot of people, subway included.

I use the orange line and the green line. Both are crowded from 7 am and on...the later it is, the worse it is. Supposedly fewer people are taking the schlubway because of the "epidemic"...I don't see it.

It's crowded at 7, but not as bad as it is later (picture not having even a place to stand, being jostled and felt up by all and sundry).

I take Line 1 from Yongsan to Cheonan and I'm always on before 7am. I only tried going later once. It was so packed that not everyone could get on the train and we were leaving people behind on the platforms. Nightmare.

Line 7 is generally jammed by 7. So is line 2.
