Hello,

I was told (maybe incorrectly) that it's not possible to have a wireless network in your home without going through your Internet service provider? Is this true? Or am I able to just buy a router, set it up myself and have everything work fine?

TIA.

I've never had a problem setting up a wireless router at my place. Perhaps they're talking about the log in name/password thingy some of the ISP's require. I had a problem with LG last year, but they sent a tech out to take care of it.

I use KT and haven't had a single hiccup outside my crappy Netgear router.

Thanks. I have KT as well in my officetel so hopefully it should work.

You should be fine. You might have to fidget with settings, like setting up a static IP instead of dynamic to make it work.
