You poor PC guys getting shafted again. I am in no way being sarcastic, it is a real shame the way the gaming industry has been treating PC gamers the past few years. I used to be one, but simply migrated to console when I moved to Korea.

No surprise given the economics of the situation. Consoles are cheaper to produce for and present far fewer headaches after release, thus, fewer patches and the companies can focus on downloadable content, furthering the profits.

Ugh....when the consoles get mouse/keyboard-type controllers and high-res (comparable to the PC) graphics, I may move.

Yep, that's what I'm waiting for. Can't give up my WASD+mouse-look.

I started playing it last night using a cracked copy. Surprisingly, it works online (for now, I guess). It makes me yearn for a new GPU.

What do you have currently?

ATI 4850 512mb. My monitor is 1680x1050. I can't max out the settings and run it smoothly, but it still looks okay.

Well, your system needs to be checked, I think.

I am running the game at 1920x1200, all in-game settings either "on" or "high" with 8x in-game AF, smooth as silk. I may even ratchet up the AF to 16x. I am running Vista x64, 4GB, stock speeds on the 4850 graphics under a Q9550.

Great game so far....interesting vibe overall.

EDIT: Well, just cranked it up to 16x and still not a stutter. Its an Unreal engine game; I also have UT3 and Batman installed, which are also Unreal engine games and all of them run top notch with all the candy on at the aforementioned resolution. My guess is that your PC may have some optimization problems.

I think it was just the card overheating. I might need to clean it and make sure the fan is cranked to full power.

I've started having loads of crashes at about 15 hours in. Think I may have burned out a DIMM.

If anyone wants an online session sometime, let's trade info. I opened all the correct ports so anyone can join my game. It's called 'SEOUL (KOR) only'.
What about your servers?

What exactly led you to that conclusion? I mean...crashes sound more like a heat thing; a DIMM failing will give you more problems than a simple game crash.

So it is more than just a game crashing then. Check the error code...I suppose you already did?

Yep, the MS site said "Driver issue or general hardware fault". I did a driver rollback for my video card but got another anyway. Basically I hope its ram 'cause anything else is a much bigger hassle.

Try looking in your Windows event viewer, in the Administrative Tools menu. It should tell you more about what happened.

That's what I said when I moved to Xbox, but I must say I'm pretty damn good with a controller, just as good as I was on a kb/mouse.

Also IMHO Borderlands is better than Fallout3. I was a tad disappointed with FO3. I loved the old FO games back in the day and FO3 just didn't do it for me like those 2 did.

FO3 - hanging out with your father.
Borderlands - hanging out with your uncle.
