So I'm finally gonna turn on the heat today Sad

Can I get big sheets of plastic somewhere to seal the windows? I can feel the cold air coming in from them and its such a waste of heat.

Any of the big marts or Costco will sell them. You just need a blowdryer to apply it.

I used the plastic over my windows last winter, and it was amazing how much wind and cold it blocked out.

I hear you can get the 3M kind from any mart, like E Mart, and I highly recommend it if you have drafty windows.

YES! Get the 3M kind.

I bought 3M two years ago, and some crappy Korean brand last year. Every two days the adhesive came off... used 4 rolls of duct tape and then finally nails to keep the plastic from the coming loose.

To all newbies: spend the money. Be warm.

I made one of these last year, using wood from my local furniture maker and 3M plastic sheeting. If you're going to be here for more than a season, it means that you don't have to buy new sheeting every year (expensive if you have large or many windows).

i bought rolls of plastic from a market, not the 3M/hair dryer kind. I don't think it really matters. the really important thing, especially if you live in an officetell is to put the film up inside the air conditioner housing. Many of us have this air conditioner that resides inside a separate cabinet. They have shutters but they dont close all the way. If you turn on the heat most of your heat will go through there. It is basically a hole in your apartment wall.

Aside: The 3M story is a pretty compelling one for those with anyone with even a small degree of interest in big business. Great company, great story, and great products.
