OK someone very close to me left my camera in a Taxi. Crying or Very sad

It was Lumix point and shoot 6MP 6X optical Zoom, I think I paid $225 last Christmas. It also had image stability.

So I am looking for replacement. I am not a camera pro.

Anybody got a recommendation to replace this? I'm finding the same camera available stateside for around $165, I just don't know where to find it online in Korea.

The Canon A710 would be a good replacement for your Casio, as it also has 6X zoom. It has excellent reviews, too. Google it. Also, it's widely available in Korea (get it gray-market for a substantial discount).

What I am findiing on the internet is not good.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7 is retailing for $163 at 6th Ave. Electronics and $179 at Circuit City.

The only thing slightly comparable to this is the Canon A550 at DicaCam.co.kr for 180,000 won.

I'm really struggling to decipher the Korean websites.

Does anyone know if they have the DMC-LZ7 at any of the Grey market stores? Are any of the grey market stores on the internet?

Or maybe point me to to a better internet camera store.

Or advise me to another camera.

If you buy a digital camera in Korea and take it home will there be any compatibility issues? Are the camera buttons, display screen info and instructions in English?

Most/all cameras have menus that if aren't English by default can easily be switched to English.

The only "compatibility" issue is whether the warranty will be any good at home. Depends on the brand, and where you bought it.

Hi there. I'll be coming to Korea next month and I'm trying to decide if I should buy a new digital camera here in the states or once I get to Seoul. I just want a small point and shoot, like the Canon ELPH.
Does anyone have any current price info for cameras in Korea?
Is it still cheaper to buy in the states? Here the ELPH, and similar cameras, are about $250-$150.
