What music albums mean the most to you? Please keep it to about 3 or so.

I'm 22, so 90's rock is probably what will always be my staple. The 3 most important albums in my life are without a doubt:

1. Everclear - So Much for the Afterglo
I love every single track on this album and have listened to it hundreds (thousands?) of times

2. Third Eye Blind - Self-titled
A perfect record in my opinion.

3. Foo Fighters - There is Nothing Left to Lose
My absolute favorite band.

Whenever I pop these CDs in, it's like reliving my whole life again. So many memories tied to them throughout the years.

Go ahead and judge mayyyy. The music snob in me makes me feel obligated to say that these albums don't reflect even a fraction of what I listen to. Recently, I've been listening to a lot of Passion Pit, Digitalism, Black Kids, Shinichi Osawa, Santogold, and Kanye (of course).

-Radiohead: can't pick just one. aye. OK Computer/Kid A/Amnesiac/In Rainbows
-Interpol: Turn on the Bright Lights
-Death Cab for Cutie: Transatlanticism

Travelling Wilburys - Vol.1 (great memories of my childhood)

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours (every track is brilliant)

The Prodigy - Music For a Jilted Generation (one of the first albums I bought, I still like it)

and....i'll probably get ripped apart for saying this one....

Coldplay - Viva La Vida (one of my favourite albums of the 21st century so far)

I'm going to name four because.. well just because. I'm greedy.

Radiohead- Kid A
It's hard to pick one Radiohead album, but this one really has an atmosphere about it.

Refused- The Shape of Punk to Come
Such an amazing album front to back with so much to say. Had a huge influence on my old band.

At the Drive In- Relationship of Command
Simply fantastic

Deftones- White Pony
This album came out after my sophomore year of high school. They were my favorite band for a long time and this album just blew me away. I lost my virginity to Digital Bath.. hot.

Mine would have to be:

Pearl Jam - Ten, This alblum was the anthem of my high school depravity. As a matter of fact, I lost my virginity to Jeremy. And no, it didn't take the whole song! Good thing I've "improved." LOL.

Metallica - The Black Alblum, This was the first exposure I really had to heavy metal and it opened up a whole new passion for me. I like all types of music but there is just something about the raw power of metal that makes my hair stand on end. This was the first concert I saw too so maybe that has something to do with it.

AC/DC - Back in Black, This is one of those alblums that I can just put on play and jam out to the entire thing. Nothing bad on it and it is really great for me to listen to when I shooting pool. It just focuses my nerves and gets my blood pumping. For some reason, it really helps me to concentrate by destroying all the sensory input around me.

This is a plug, but I wrote a web page with samples of my favorite songs, as I tend to think in songs instead of albums. Feel free to agree / disagree / roll eyes at the old codger.

THe Black Album took me off of metallica.
Here are three albums that changed my musical taste.
Rush 2112 Got me off of heavy metal and opened up the doors to prog rock.

Yes - Round The World in Eighty Days. live concert of theirs that really got me into prog rock. Which is the Studio album from yes which means the most to me is either Fragile or Relayer.

Al DiMeola Casino. Unbelievable guitar playing on there and jaw droppingly fast. Got me interested in Jazz fusion.

Honourable mentions of artitsts Peter Gabriel got me interested in Tony Levin (his bassist) and He really kicks ass as a bassist. Which also got me into King Crimson, which reaffirmed my love of bill bruford as a drummer.

The Who - Quadrophenia (original).......I got into this at about 13 years old and basically didn't ever listen to pop music again. Showed me that music could rock.

Van Morrison - Astralweeks .........I discovered this album and 'special cigarettes' around the same time. 16 years old. Van has been my favorite musician since. Showed me that music can be transcendental.

Punk-O-Rama 2. Tons of good bands on there that make you want to ride your gnarly skateboard and twin tip skis. Millencolin's "Bullion" is the best song on there.

Choke - Needless To Say - a local band from Edmonton, Canada. Fast, aggressive music with insightful lyrics.

Thick as a Brick - Jethro Tull

One forty minute song broken into two halves. The whole thing is just genius. I've listened the album at least 700 times in the 3 years that I discovered it.
