I hear a lot of so called Korean "netizens" complaining all over the net without having nothing much to do that foreigners in korea are treated too well. But although i am a newbie, i don't really see significant "special" treatments from koreans.

Also I'm starting to experience some of the so called "culture shock" or "racism" by koreans little by little each and everyday as I venture around this city.

any opinions on this?

ok to simplify everything

basically some koreans are angry and bitter, thinking that we're treated "spcecial" despite that we're drug abusing, womanizer criminals to them and they feel its not fair. but ironically on the other hand we take racist crap daily from the koreans.

koreans and their xenophobia, and how do we feel about this?

The truth? Some are, some aren't. Varies case by case. I don't doubt the xenophobia, but I've never experienced it.

Of course, I'm a newbie as well and am here as a student rather than for work, so that could be the reason as well.

We are very fortunate to be brought here and housed on someone else's coin, then given fairly simple jobs and paid a reasonable wage for it.

"so called" instead of "so-called,"
"all over the net" (a bit inauthentic)
"without having nothing much to do" - double negative.
"But although i am a newbie" instead of "even though I am a newbie"
"significant 'special' treatments" instead of "special treatment,"
"venture around this city" instead of "venture around the city."

You speakee Englishee like a hangooksaram. That's my opinion.

What caught me was that he says he's a newbie but has heard lots of stuff from netizens. Unless he's a gyopo or somehow spontaneously studied Korean a lot before coming here (like, at least a year in univ) AND found Korean discussion boards, etc, how the heck would he know what netizens are saying?
