Question:

Will this be popular here?

Should I wait to pick it up from Yongsan or order it from Play-asia? Which will be cheaper?

(PS3 version)

Whether it's popular here or not, I'll be buying the US version and playing on US servers. I loved the first one and can't wait for the next one. If I were to purchase a non-US copy of MW2, would I still be able to play on US servers?

Agreed. Whether or not it's popular in SC-Korea is irrelevant. This game is hands down the best FPS on the planet. I'll be getting it and playing on either US (before the hacks infest it anyways) and depending on lag moving to Europe servers. I HIGHLY doubt this game will be popular in Korea. They're still in love with games created in the 90's...CS, SC, WC...even Sudden Attack is old and outdated. A.V.A. at least runs on the UT3 engine but the game mechanics suck. MW2 FTW!

Price should be the same for Play-Asia or at Yongsan - pretty sure it'll come out the same day anyway.

Its possible the 'Korean' version may have Korean menus but it's 5050. COD:MW had Korean menus, COD:WaW had no Korean menus.

I would imagine you just get put in a server that offers you the best connection (although with some connections i do wonder). If that is the case you are obviously going to end up with connections closer to you geographically. But as a player in England i frequently end up showing Americans how to play so i couldnt really say.

Im not really a gamer but since i played the original Modern Warfare i was hooked.

To easily connect to US servers or Europe servers, just change your location settings on you XB console.

For you PC players, no dedicated multiplayer servers for MW2.

Definite deal-breaker for many.

Yeah..not sure how this will work for competitive gaming matches either. Seems like it will be difficult to allow for map editing and mods. They basically cut out all the game server hosting companies from supporting this game now.

Here's some more info on how craptacular the PC version is gonna be, straight from Infinity Ward themselves:

 Damn, they really ruined a good thing this time around. Doubt I'll even get this one for console.

I'm a console player anyways so doesn't bother me. I USED to be a pc player, but there aren't a lot of pc exlusives I like. Plus I'm sick of freaking MMORPG's

If you did the free shipping from playasia it will be awhile before you get it. Usually takes 2 weeks to get to me.
