I agree, the JR rail pass is a good deal if you're going to be traveling around Japan extensively!

the trains in Japan pretty much suck they are like libraries filled with prudes who cant stand hearing english spoken near them.

Im currently livin in Japan and i have lived in Korea the atmosphere on the trains in Korea is interesting and comical a train experience in Japan on te other hand feels like im in a concentration camp everyone looks lihe they are about to cry

Anywayyyy, I like how easy the Seoul subway system is. I love how cheap the Shanghai subway system is.

I have to agree. Japanese trains are some the finest things on rail I have ever had the pleasure to ride. I have been on several other asian train systems and found the Japanese trains to be the fastest, most comfortable, relaxing, curteous rail experience I have ever had. I am also fond of Chinese trains although not for the same reason. They are not as comfortable but the people you meet are really fun to talk to. Especially on the hard seat class.

Canadian trains have giant seats and a second floor with humongous windows that give you a full view of the skinny bridge you're riding through a mountain on!

its more or less just "Train" now..the train is all but dead in Canada which is a shame. Via has like one cross country run left, but its basically a luxury run. Edmonton to out east is like $800 one way and far more expensive than a plane ticket. I did get to take it across country when I was like 5 and it actually went to many places.
