I am looking to buy a backpack because I am going travelling soon to south America. I am looking to buy a backpack round about the 70litre mark. If you are looking to sell your backpack and it is near that size then i would be very intrested to know!
If not, does anyone know where I can pick one up that isn't too expensive?I've been looking around and they all seem to be pricey in Korea!
Thanks alot!

A foreigner with a backpack? In Korea?! Rare.
Hehe..
Spit and you hit 5. They seem pretty attached to them though... |

If you are going to be wearing it a lot and putting it through its paces I recommend not skimping. The last thing you need is one to fall apart on you.
Also think security. I traveled all around China alone and wasn't worried at all when I was sleeping on trains and buses when I used my pacsafe...wow, that sounded like a cheesy commercial.

Hey Jaybotwright,
I just bought a new travel backpack from www.kitterytradingpost.com
It's the Montainsmith Covert XL. The bag is solid and around 70L ( 5700 ci). It converts from backpack to duffel bag and has a removeable day pack with tons of pockets and a laptop sleeve. Furthemore, the bag was on sale for $89 (marked down from over $200). I do not know how much the shipping to Korea will be, but even at $50, it's a hella of deal for a very nice pack.
Good luck. |

Jay Botwright,
I told you that you should go to global.gmarket.co.kr (its in english)
Catergory --> Apparel/Accessories > Bags, Wallets & Accessories > Travel Bags & Accessories
Then type "70" in the box and you will see some hits.
I bought a 50l bag and it was fine for me, its a bag and it was only 55000won |

Cheers guys!
Thanks for the information! Not sure what i'll do but probably i'll look for a good backpack and hopefully manage to find one that's cheap! Not much chance of that in Korea but I will keep looking! If anyone knows where some good shops in Seoul are i'd be grateful to know where they are. If not that I'll maybe get a buddy to pick one up in Canada for me or something! But I take the point that its better safe than sorry! Just didn't want to spend the extra cash

I also reccommend not getting a cheap backpack. I regretted buying a knock-off north face and it broke down my second time using it. If you want the best backpack, I suggest the Gregory Baltoro 70. Gregory makes the best bags in the world. The bag is pricey (over $300) but totally worth it. It won the award for best hiking backpack and best all-around backpack in 2009 by Editors Choice. Ive been abusing it for 2 years with only slight signs of wear, but the buckles, straps and frame are still perfect. I think you can find them here in Korea on www.okoutdoor.com |
