This month's big fight, Pacquiao vs Cotto, will take place on Nov 14th (US time). That means KBSN Sports will air it live in the morning on Nov 15th Korean time.

This isn't an easy pick for me as both fighters have advantages over eachother. Cotto has several technical advantages over Pac. Cotto's best punches are his jab, left hook to the head, and left hook to the body. All three punches are easier to land against southpaws, particularly the jab, which will be Cotto's more important weapon against Pac. If Cotto can apply his best punches well, he will able to slow down the faster guy. Another factor that might play into Cotto's favor is Pacquiao not having been a welterweight as long as Cotto has. I doubt Pacquiao will have a size disadvantage as both are similar in height and Pac has grown well into a 147er, but he has had only one fight at welterweight while Cotto has been fighting guys at that weight for years. I'm not sure Pac has carried his power up to welterweight and hasn't been tested by guy's who have Cotto's power.

Pacquiao on the other hand is, well..Pacquiao. Its hard to goes against a guy who's such a monster in the ring. The guy's blinding speed, his improved ability as tactician in the ring along with Freddy Roach in his corner makes this guy a formidable match for anybody at any weight. Pac seems to have grown comfortably into a junior welter/welterweight yet maintains most of his speed. His greatest weapons against Cotto in my opinion, are his tremendous workrate and his ability to maintain that pace through every minute of a fight.

I think I'm slightly leaning towards Pacquiao. Cotto has a tendency to fade in the later rounds and consequently his worst moments have been in the later rounds where he either lost rounds, or in his fight against Margarito, got knocked around silly. He also has somewhat of a habit of fighting defensively and going against the ropes when he shouldn't. I think Cotto's inferior workrate will cost him and when he grows weaker in the later rounds, Pacquiao will jump all over him. This is assuming Cotto won't slow down Pacquiao or even stop him with his superior power.

Also, Chad Dawson vs Glen Johnson for the IBO Light Heavyweight Title and the WBC Interim Light heavyweight Title will be shown live on KBSN Sports this Sunday Morning at 10:20am. I'm not too interested in this fight but I wonder if this fight could affect future match ups for Bernard Hopkins or even Roy Jones Jr. For those who don't know, Glen Johnson is the guy who knocked out Jones after Tarver did.

Pac-Man for sure! And after he wins this fight, he has to face Mayweather. It's what the people want to see.

I think Cotto takes this. I am picking his timing and strength to beat Pacquios speed.

Interesting fight with a lot of variables. Is cotto shot after the Margarito beating? He dispatched a game but outmatched Michael Jennings and then won a controversial decision agains Joshua Clottey. I had Clottey winning as did most people but respect to Cotto for fighting with that horrific cut and coming on strong at the end. I think he has a lot left and came up against a difficult and tricky opponent in Clottey.

Pac-man has been awesome in an incredible run - Diaz, De La Hoya, Hatton. But were therse opponents tailor made for him?

Diaz - decent fighter but as static as a statue
De La Hoya - dehydrated and looked dead in the ring.(his best years were way behind him anyway)
Hatton - His punch resistance had probably gone before pac man. Looked rubbish in most of his fights since mayweather. Except the mallignagig fight. Pacman was helped by hattons suicidal lack of defence tactics.

I think Cotto looks incredibly focused on the 24/7 series. His camp is calm which is the complete opposite of pacmans preperations.

This will be the first true welterweight pac man has faced and i think it will show. Having said that pacman looks great at the weight (all muscle) and hes awesome for the sport.

My money is on Cotto by TKO. I think he takes over about halfway through and stops him.

Pacquiao by TKO or KO. I won't be sad if Miguel wins, but I am expecting the Pac-Man to be the victor.

They are both great fighters; it will be an amazing match. I only wish I could watch it....

Yeah, in a way, Pacquiaco has to win this fight. Personally, I would love to see Cotto fight Mayweather, but Pac vs Mayweather is the biggest fight right now. Way too much money to be made for them to not fight.

I picked Pacquiao by decision - mainly because of Freddy Roach - but I think Cotto has a good chance, and he would be worth betting on at long odds. His lone loss was to a guy who probably had bricks in his gloves.

For MMA fans, there's a Strikeforce event morning featuring Fedor Emelianko vs Brett Rogers. I think FX channel carries it in Korea, but I'm not sure.

I'll probably watch it on the Internet - maybe on TVU since its on CBS and is not a pay-per-view.

Actually, the Strikeforce event is also on Sunday morning - I'll have to watch one on TV and the other on computer, I guess.

Pacquiao to win by knock out, he will be strong and quick even at that weight, he always spars with heavier fighters so he will be ready for cotto's power, and probably be as powerful himself if not more powerful. cotto is no walkover but roach is pretty shrewd, i think manny has this one.
anyone know if haye vs valuev is being shown on that channel?
manny vs cotto gonna be good stuff!

I don't know what channel - if any - will show the Nikolai Valuev vs David Haye fight, and it's being fought in Germany, so I'm not sure what time it would start here in Korea.

The only channels I know that cover boxing PPV's besides KBSN is XTM (and possibly X-Sports)

It might be that one of them covers PPVs that end up being seen on HBO, and the other shows PPVs that end up being seen on Showtime.

It's a real David and Goliath match-up with Valuev at over 7 feet tall and 325 lbs while Haye has mostly fought at cruiserweight - but is very fast and explosive.

I think Hayes can win if he can avoid getting hit much. I thought Valuev was very lucky to get a (probably crooked) decision win over ancient Evander Holyfield in his last fight.

Cotto has got some serious skills and with the hindsight over Margaritos cheating with the gloves and bandaging. Cotto is still a force to be reckoned with. His best days are coming to an end so Pacman can set off at his usual fast pace but Cotto may be too cute - this is 50/50 and a true world class contest.

For me though - Mayweather beats them all.

They are showing it local time in Germany so it will be around 5-6am in Korea.

I am a big Haye fan - but with the robberies that are evident against the away fighter over in Germany - a British fighter hasn't got much hope of getting a points win in Nuremberg (Robin Reid vs Sven Ottke was the last world title fight for a Briton in Nuremberg and that was a massive shafting)
which boils down to historical and geographical reasons.

Basically - Haye has to knock him out to win and Valuev isn't a bad fighter who utilizes his size very well, he has never been close to being knocked out and is akward to hit.

I have the feeling that Valuev will use his weight to wear down Haye and stop in around 10 rounds. Haye has a mountain to climb tonight thats for sure. Crying or Very sad
