CNN, which invented the cable news network more than two decades ago, will hit a new competitive low with its prime-time programs in October, finishing fourth and last among the cable news networks with the audience that all the networks rely on for their advertising.......
.....For the month, CNN averaged 202,000 viewers between the ages of 25 and 54 the group that television news organizations use as their basis of success because of their advertising sales. That was far behind the dominant leader, Fox News, which averaged 689,000. But it also trailed MSNBC, which had 250,000 viewers in that group and HLN, which had 221,000..... |

I want to laugh, but there's nothing funny about that many people watching Fox "News." |

Have you noticed the change in the CNN website? I just hate it. It looks like some Pommy tabloid site. |

Fox News is killing in the ratings because, just as certain governmental officials have pointed out, they aren't really playing by the same rules as the other news stations. Their bombastic, emotion-inspiring propaganda may frequently be somewhere between distortions of the truth and outright lies, but it's certainly good at exciting people.
More accurate representations of the world are less interesting and, as such, less popular. |

Fox news is no less reliable than CNN or the NYT. It just depends which point of view you hold, and therefore which "facts" you choose to question and those you swallow with the rest of the bull that is shoveled your way.
I prefer Fox News. Many people who are not left-leaning politically do, which is a great, great many people. People don't like being ridiculed with every other sound bite. Fox News, I'm sure, appreciates the business. |

CNN, HLN and MSNBC are all sort of the same variety so they share that market while Fox news has a monopoly for the "fringe". |

When I want to be informed about current news events I watch BBC News or read it online.
If I wanted to be told how I should react to the "news" then I would watch Fox News. |

Fox is much less PC and a huge portion of America is sick of PC. See how CNN and FOX treated the Ft. Hood shooting.
The more off the deep-end mainstream media goes with liberal hangups, the fewer and fewer people will relate and watch. |
