They have an ok film festival that i attended once. Kind of a college town, I think, tho it's smallish. That's all i know.

Jeonju is about 40 minutes to Iksan KTX station, or 40 mins to Jinan, for Tapsa & Maisan. It also has a rail station for slower speed trains:

My first impressions were favourable, even though I only spent an hour at the bus station.

i've been there a few times:

- nice small river park area for jogging/walking/biking
- good film festival in the spring
- overhyped and underwhelming version of bibimbap
- good location vis-a-vis some great west coast beaches for summer weekends
- lots of university students

I went there last month and had a great time.

Run a search here for Jeonju, there's quite a bit here already:

Start with "Jeonju Information Guide": http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=152477

The Jeonju Hub is a good website for the area: http://www.thejeonjuhub.com
