It is coming close to decision time for what I am going to do after my first year in EPIK. To say the least, it has been an up and down year and I feel I really need a change. I want to stay in Korea but move closer to my friends and significant other (in a different province) as I don't think I can stand another stressful year like this one.
To be honest, I am quite confused about the re-applying to a different province or even trying out a new program such as GEPIK. I've heard that re-applying is like doing the whole process over again, but all of my original documents are with the POE. Would I need to get a new background check since I havent been home (US) since 2008? Is it possible to do that from here?
Since I still feel like a newbie here I think I would need help with this process. Would it be best if I try to work with multiple recruiters, my coteacher, or my POE? I am kind of worried about working with my POE/coteachers because we've had our misunderstandings this year although I've followed everything they've asked me to do. They may try to hinder rather than help me if I want to move.
I have had problems finding clear information about what to do, so if anyone knows of any resources about reapplying that would be very helpful to me as well.
I appreciate any help I can get. Thank you. |

If you change employer (changing provinces), you'll just need to apply for a transfer of visa. No background check nor health check is necessary. Just had my done 3 weeks ago and just picked it up last Friday (two weeks is necessary for the process I was told). Just needed my new contract, business registration paper from new school, sponsorship letter, letter from old school saying it was ok to transfer visa, transfer visa application, and my old contract, which I didnt know that I needed but wasn't a problem because I just called my old school and had them faxed it over to the immigration office. |

Yeah if you go out of the system for good, then you have to do the process again. That's what I'll be doing shortly. |
