Image of Michael Jackson Appears on Rug
Fox 5 San Diego
11:58 AM PDT, September 5, 2009
FALLBROOK -- The owner of a Southern California gym says he believes the "King of Pop" made a final appearance on the day he was laid to rest.
Erica Williams draped a rug on a railing Thursday so she could sweep under it.
On the underside of the rug is a stain that she says looks strikingly like Michael Jackson after all of his plastic surgery. Williams, who is a personal trainer, said her clients noticed the resemblance first.
"My clients were out here doing some exercises, and they're like 'Oh my God! Look at that rug!' I'm like, 'What rug? What are you talking about?'," Williams said.
"They're like, 'It looks like Michael Jackson!'"
Fox 5 showed a photo of the rug stain to several people. One said it looked like a naked woman.
Another said it looked like a surfer. But when a photo of Michael Jackson was shown to them, both people said they definitely saw the resemblance.
That's good enough for Williams. Now, when she looks at the stain, she sees dollar signs.
"I think we're going to eBay," she said.
She'll be setting the starting bid at $1,000. |

Jackson set to be top-earning star in 2010
PTI 10 September 2009, 12:59am IST
LONDON: Even after his death, Michael Jackson has proved he is still the 'King of Pop' as he is set to become the highest earning celebrity of
2010.
The experts are predicting the 'Thriller' hit maker will bring in an estimated $240 million in revenue this year. Jackson's music shot back into the charts following his sudden death in June due to a drug overdose.
Moreover, the executors of his estate are planning to launch an official range of merchandise as well as a touring exhibit of the star's memorabilia.
AEG, the company behind Jackson's comeback concerts is set to release a movie featuring rehearsal footage of his 'This Is It' tour.
The ventures are tipped to make Jackson the highest earning celebrity in 2010, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lady Gaga, Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe. |

This has already been posted, but it tunefully points up the hypocrisy of the media.
You should have added, NSFW (the soundtrack, anyway). |

This Is It: whatever 'it' was, it looks impressive
A fitting eulogy to the world's greatest entertainer or a shameless cash-in taking advantage of the public's morbid fascination? The Michael Jackson conundrum continues
Here's the trailer for This Is It - the film that promises to lift the veil on the rehearsal process that should have led to Michael Jackson's hopefully triumphant return to live performance but ended suddenly with his death in June.
Every shot of this trailer will undoubtedly inspire unbridled (though somewhat melancholic) glee in Jackson's millions of fans. That is, after all, who it's for:
Blimey. "Blimey" is, officially, one of the things that one might think upon watching the trailer for This Is It. Some of the others - though certainly not exhaustively - might include:
"That doesn't look like a man at death's door."
Because it doesn't. While the news reports and rumour, autopsies and backstage sources might speak of drugs and addiction, exhaustion and physical decline. This trailer doesn't suggest that.
It promises glimpses of the magic that hundreds of thousands were hoping to catch at the O2 in London. Sharp movement, top-class choreography, and all the electricity and energy that Jackson was known for.
Whether that's what the film looks like isn't clear. Whether that's what all the rehearsals looked like, we're unlikely to hear. Whether that's what the O2 shows would have ended up like, we will never know. This film is what will remain. And what may change the historical perception of the way this icon died.
"Wait, is he laughing?"
We've been so used to the media image of Jackson hidden behind a towel, or a mask, or a paper bag that seeing him laughing or consulting, or arguing:
or at least pointing seems weird. Not that we can hear what he's laughing about as yet. And we don't see much in this trailer, apart from his face. It's weird.
"Yes! His face was weird by the end, wasn't it?" - is another perfectly fair thing that people might think, watching this trailer.
Doesn't detract from what he achieved, they just might think, too.

Dancers are gearing up for Saturday's mass "Thriller" performance
Several months ago, dozens of dancers began training to zombie walk and booty swim their way through a mass synchronized performance of Michael Jackson's thriller.
The celebration, called "Thrill the World" will take place in the Inner Harbor at 8 p.m. Saturday.
As of today, about 275 have registered to perform the dance.
At the exact same time, thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) will join them around the world, in an effort to set a record for the largest synchronized dance routine at various venues ...
"It's been a lot of fun putting this together," said Cheryl Goodman, who organized the event. "The diversity of the people who are doing this is amazing."
Goodman has worked with 4-year-olds, senior citizens, men, women and folks from all different races, shapes and sizes, she said.
"I'm just amazed," she said. "Everybody has a great time."
If it rains, the performance will be moved to the Hippodrome, Goodman said. |

Well, his estate, anyway
Dad asks son for allowance
Michael Jackson's dad wants $15,000 monthly allowance from son's estate
* From: AAP
* November 08, 2009 7:50AM
MICHAEL Jackson's father is seeking money from his late son's estate to help him meet monthly living expenses estimated at more than $15,000, court papers filed in Los Angeles have revealed.
A motion filed on behalf of Joe Jackson on Friday argued that the administrators of the pop star's estate should have set up an allowance similar to the one established for the singer's mother Katherine.
The papers argued that the administrators, John Branca and John McClain, knew that Michael Jackson had financially supported his father for decades.
Joe Jackson, 81, receives 1,700 dollars a month in Social Security payments, according to the documents. He has diabetes and had a stroke in 1998.
A proposed monthly budget in the court papers lists more than 15,000 dollars in expenses, including 1,500 dollars for rent, 2,500 dollars for restaurants and 5,000 dollars for hotels and air travel. |
