|

I just saw this story on YouTube. It looks like it happened in 2008. Some Koreans decided to kill pheasant birds by pounding them to death with hammers on top of Rising Sun Japanese flags. They were protesting the Dokdo islands that Japan also claims as their own.

Now is that any way to gain sympathy for your cause? Disgusting! |

Umm...
Emotion nor logic explains what they are doing.
I don't think being psychotic would even explain this kind of behavior. |

The men killing the birds are described as "elite soldiers'. I guess that explains why the police did nothing to stop this. The police were, I imagine, afraid of these guys.
Who knows what they were thinking doing this type of protest? They've probably done a lot of damage to their cause with this. |

What's really weird about this Korean emotion thing is that they're aware of it and will cite while getting pissed off. I've had a few entanglements with ladies and all the sudden they go completely batshit and say "This is how Koreans are it's our way".
Sorry but if you can actually think that and say it while you're getting angry it's just a cop out using culture as a crutch. |

Seriously Korea, Seriously? Live Bird Killing? I don't even see a connection...am I missing some sort of symbolism here?
That's just absolut bat turd. Some circuit is missfiring there.
I mean I appreciate good ole live animal mutilation, pyromania, and senselessness as much as the next guy, but really....what the????
I have to say that Bee Man was pretty good. At least he's not hurting anyone but himself. There's something pretty old school about that.
Water Cannon Man looked pretty intense. |

They were killing pheasants, which are the national bird of Japan. But apparently they killed the wrong kind of pheasant, according to a friend of mine. Wunderbar! |

I suspect Korean protests are insane because they aren't so much as sending a message outwards, but sending a message "inwards". They are unaware how their protesting is perceived by outsiders, they're only aware inwardly and how other Koreans react.
I read a newspaper article, years back, where a group of Japanese students were surprised how many Koreans attending the anti-american protests had no solid opinions of their own. Even when the protests was ruining US-South Korea relations, many Koreans attended merely because they were comformists and got caught up in the trend.
Can anyone confirm this?

Read up behind their organization history/background. Its really interesting stuff.
They're one of the rare post-Vietnam War Koreans to have any real combat experience. Their records range from bombings (blowing up a NK barracks full of soldiers) to kidnapping (Reports say that the highest ranking North Korean to be kidnapped was a military colonel). |
