Hehehe.. sorry about that. Ok. I've been having problems finding a English teaching job through any of the job services here in the states. I seem to hitting a road block because I'm an adopted Korean (age 2). I've been told about something regarding not being able to qualify for an E-2 Visa. Can anyone point me in the direction of a job service that will help/hire me as a korean-american who only speaks English. LOL |

Assuming you have a degree you can qualify for an E2, although visa wise you can do better. |

Am I reading this right? You are hitting a road-block because of your American citizenship? And you dont qualify for a visa because of this? Did you graduate from a 4-year college?
Have you given this a lot of thought? As a Korean who cant speak, Korean you are going to experience a new level of loathing here. I have way too many kyopo friends with nearly identical experiences in this regard. Do a search on this site- you will find plenty of information in regards to this. Good luck! |

If you want to chat with a recruiting firm that I used for the emplyment of 6 teaching staff at my previous school, give Jeff or Ben a ring at Footprints Recruiting. They are the only recruiter I would recommend. Best of luck. |

He's a two year old Korean coming back to Korea to look for a job. That's absolutely bizarre. |

Yes. I have a 4 year degree. The road-block I seem to be hitting is that I was not born in the States, but born in Korea. I've wanted to go back to Korea for a long time, but outside of teaching english I don't think there are any other jobs I can qualify for. I've got some K-friends who live in Seoul and thought it would be cool to teach english there as an opportunity to learn more about where I'm from and to learn the language. It seems that not many of the recruiting agencies will touch me because I'm a naturalized citizen of the States, even though I DO not have dual citizenship or anything like that. Besides I have a very american name. So any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated. |

My only advice.. keep at it. If you really want it, come over here and do things in person. |

Are you sure? I would check that out. There have been stories floating around of Koreans naturalized at a young age (and even some who were born in the U.S.) who lived their whole lives not realizing that their name was on the citizenry roll in Korea; came here and got drafted. |

How would I check something like that? I'm pretty sure my folks were told that I couldn't be a dual citizen with S. Korea and the US at the time of my adoption and naturalization.. |
