A little bird just told me that Victoria's Secret will be opening in Myeong Dong in spring! No more ordering from the net and praying I got the size right.

Now, here's hoping they don't scale to the Korean market too much..

well.. korea being the conservate country it is.. and myungdong being the young fashion seekers market. I predict they will fail! with the highest rent in the country just under kangnam. they are sure to die..
WHY? you ask,,
well we all know korea. all the girls have curfew, and I think if daddy or mommy found out that their daughter is wearing a thong or some sexy bra and panties.. they will hit the roof.. sure there are enough students/girls who live alone etc.. or can hide it.. but not enough to keep it a float..

thats just my opinion. of course I have been talking about that kind of shop for years.. keep telling me wife, why in korea cant get enough underwear.. CONSERVATIVE! we found a few stores.. over priced and no good styles.. just a few alright ones..

I don't know...it might happen. It is Victoria's Secret after all, and not Frederick's of Hollywood!
If they go out of business that means closing sale anyways....If they are here it's a win, when they get shut down by the crazy people brandishing pitchforks and torches, it's even more of a win.

Why do you always see the wierdest looking couples in underwear shops, full view of everyone, picking some of the ugliest underwear you have ever had the misfortune to lay your eyes on?

Yes. I have seen the shops in Gangnam. There is some interesting stuff there. Horrendous, but interesting. But why is it so public? And the underwear stands you see in the various markets around? Same principle. Are you really going to wear something that has been sitting outside for god knows how long, thousands of people have fingered it and thousands are watching you shop there. I DON'T THINK SO.

Wrong answer! They will NOT fail! Thousands of koreans will be buying from Victoria's! You can bank on it! Look at all the sex shops around the country! All the massage places, salon rooms, red light districts! Not to mention love hotels. Nope, they will do well. Very well. People in this country are two faced about living a "clean respectable" life, good family values not!
