Hi,
I've just got my flight ticket from my hagwon, going back to England on the 13th December. The problem is that my ARC and visa expire on the 12th...so one day prior.
What do I have to do to avoid being fined at the airport?
Thanks,
Rich |

Get a visa extention from immigration if you want to feel safe about it. Once i left a day after my ARC expired and i got a warning, no big deal but it meant the time at the airport was rushed as i had to go into a room with russian women and SEA men for an hour to get that warning. |

I got a warning, paid a very small fine, and was told at the Fukuoka consulate that with 2 overstays I won't be able to make any visa runs again. |

Thanks for the replies, nothing much to worry about then. If my hagwon doesn't change the date, then I'll apply for an extension to be on the safe side. |

There is no need to take any risks on this. Avoid problems at the airport. Sure, there might be no fine, but still needless time and worry.
Just take your ticket, passport and ARC and go to Immigration and get a free extension. They'll add up to 30 days free to your stay and you're safe. |

You used to be able to extend online at the "hikorea" website. Check it out, it might save you a trip to immi. You just need to send them a scan of your ticket out and your passport (and possibly your ARC, can't remember). |

Deffo inform immi beore. I know for a fact that if you (as a UK person) re-sign for a whole year the new VISA is free so surely a 1 day extension would also be.....? |
