Hey all,

Has anyone used Park English? I was looking through their website and was surprised at how nice the facilities looked. This made me suspicious. Anyone heard anything about them?

Their listing on the job board:

Yes,
I 've used them. They helped me find a SWEET job. It's out in the country, good pay, and quiet. Like everyone will say use caution, some might say they are only there to "introduce you " to the school, and this is true. But a good recruiter will help you a little more than just that.
Park English is a good recruiter IMO .

I just signed a contract that Park English introduced me too.

I'll be arriving in Suwon in May, so all I can comment on is my experience thus far and it was excellent.

I talked to Chris first and since he is American he was able to answer all of my million questions.... and I probably did have a million of them.

Chris passed me to Lena and she was my contact person.

I was working with 2 other recruiters and applied to a number of schools, so I in the last 2 months I interviewed with many, many, many people.

I went with my best feeling opportunity and was really happy with the service I received from Park English.

My interview with the actual school in Suwon, was also the best interview I had. They asked real questions and asked how I would handle different scenarios. I felt that a lot of the other people I interviewed with were just looking for a body to fill the spot.

I make a lot of decisions based on feeling and I think in a situation like this, a good feeling is all you can really go on since you aren't in the country.

Good Luck with your search for the perfect school!

Park English is great! I also spoke with Chris and Lena, and they helped me out so much. Not only did they get me an awesome gig here in Korea, but they were awesome with helping me with some paperwork issues I had. I have also been in contact with them since I've been in Korea. They email me to make sure everything here in working out ok.
I've already recommended them to others, and will continue to do so.

I was dealing with Park English and everything was going great and then they dropped me due to their own mistake.

Park had me scheduled for an interview with a school in Busan, except that they gave me the wrong day and time for the interview. So of course when the school called I wasn't in. Lena had written me 10 minutes prior to the interview to inform me of her error.

When I asked for the phone call to be rescheduled they didn't bother replying. I tried contacting them a few times but I never heard anything back.

I was very happy with them up until then but I was surprised that they didn't care to fix their own mistake.

Park English started off good...

I'm pretty flexible; I want a job in Seoul but the district is not important. I have no preference for the age of students, and I don't have a strong preference for the time of shifts. I can't start until early May or later.

Anyway, Park English said that there are no jobs in Seoul that start in May or June that will hire a new teacher. They encouraged me to accept one of two positions outside of Seoul.

I told them I will keep looking, they wished me luck, the end.

Like I said, Park English was great in the beginning when I was trying to get all my documents together but I'm disappointed that they gave up on me so quickly.

If there are any questions about agencies or schools, those could be directed to people who found jobs through the recruitment companies, or currently working at the schools.

If there are any questions or concerns, it is possible to talk to the recruitment agent directly, and ask them questions directly.

Hey Janey, how long have you worked for Park English?
You can go with Park English if you want your private information spammed to everyone who visits this forum. Park English has a serious spam problem and routinely sends out emails full of teachers personal information, photos, passport scans, etc to anyone who leaves an MSN address in their profile.

Now I didn't find that problem with park.
Although I did find issues with them not responding
to my attempt to use them as a recruiter the second time around.
I was severely disapointed with that fact.

Same experience as above. They advertise jobs, yet no reply whatsoever.
Business must be good.
