This thread's really taken a nosedive.
I didn't know this was a "what does influential mean?" thread.

I think you both need to let this one go!

Although Tycho Brahe did at least add some albums to the original thread.

So did I. Look again.

Question
OK, still nothing from this decade except a mention of The Beatles collection, Lady Gaga, and a reference to Kid A for arguements sake.

Wrong again. I did mention an album from this decade in my first post on this thread. Stop being lazy or stop acting like a know-it-all.

Laughing OK, I am lazy.
But you still have the market cornered on acting like a know it all. Wink

Cornered no. A majority stock holder, okay.

ince this thread has been steered a bit off topic, I will suggest Mastodons's Leviathan. Not because it has been the decades most influential but because it brought some metal back to popular (indie/important) culture.

I can't believe people have said Coldplay. Without doubt, the dreariest MOR pop band of the decade.

Agreed. I remember when they started gaining popularity (& what seemed to be a ridiculously fast journey from venues to stadiums/arenas) & thinking "Oh no, is this really the next UK 'thing'? This?"
I have to admit to finally being worn down by a few songs to the point of saying "that's quite nice", but their albums are surely about as unimportant as albums could get.

Agreed. The 00s Bread.

It was me that first posted about TVOTR. Did you download Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes as well? If not, do so! It's probably even better than Return to Cookie Mountain. The new album isn't so great.

In a similar vein to TVOTR (i.e. really experimental), try Wolf Parade, Animal Collective, Liars, Xiu Xiu, Hercules, Love Affair, Grizzly Bear, Cold War Kids, Foals (a bit too like Q and Not U, imo), Blood Red Shoes, Youthmovies, Maybeshewill, And So I Watch You From Afar.
