I want to study some Korean, but not academically. I don't really want to do a language exchange because I don't want to teach anybody. I want to pay a little money and feel entitled. How much should I offer an hour? 40,000? |

Honestly, I would start at 10,000 won an hour. If they are a qualified teacher then you might pay more. |

40k is too much. 20-30 for a qualified teacher is reasonable. |

I pay mine 50,000 for 90 minutes, but she teaches Korean to foreigners at the university level, so she's not an amateur. |

for 15 minutes? if not his tutor is getting ripped off..
think about supply and demand.
While the going rate is around 50,000W for a native English teacher to tutor someone privately, back home in say Canada, the US or England, I probably wouldn't expect to get more than 10,000-15,000. Unless the person is a professional tutor or educator with lots of experience I couldn't see you paying more than that here. |

More info: the tutor is a Korean. We're in a rural district.
I don't know how long is his 'session'. |
