Economic responsibility??? Like the double-digit TRILLIONS (and counting) that your despicable, lying crook of a president handed over to the banks? ... |
I was under the impression that it was 700 billion...and even then not all of that went to the banks. A lot of that went to the major automakers as well.
Plus the banks are obligated to repay the money...some are already doing so.

TARP was only one - and a small one - of the many gifts to the banksters. It is also the one that the government (and her media minions) focus upon.

And it has guaranteed many trillions more. And there will be many trillions more to come. The banking system is a black hole. |

Ah yes, I see what you mean. However some of those are a bit disingenous no?
Look at the commercial paper issue for example. The market it says is 1.6 trillion...but the government doesn't own the ENTIRE market. In fact it only owns 179 billion worth...A whole lot smaller figure than 1.6 trillion. And some of those figures are misleading...some of their funds come from the same pot of money. For example, TALF and the public-private investment fund draw a bunch of money from the TARP program. You can't count the same funds three times. In any event they've only spent 2.5 trillion so far...some of which is re-payable. |

The article is almost a year old. I was and am too uninspired to find something updated.
It is a clusterf%ck. It is not possible to know what the amount really is. But it is hugely larger than TARP. And we're not finished yet. |
